PaediaSure Peptide

Paediasure -peptide

When children are unable to digest and absorb the nutrients they need, they can have sensitive or upset tummies - ‘tummy troubles’, also known as gastrointestinal issues.

If children have tummy troubles they can experience unpleasant symptoms such as vomiting, bloating, flatulence (or wind), diarrhoea or generally feel unwell.1 In some instances, tummy troubles can lead to poor growth,2 a condition known as faltering growth. For more information on faltering growth, click here.

Some children with tummy troubles will benefit from special nutritional drinks, known as sip feeds or oral nutritional supplements, like PaediaSure Peptide, which can help to relieve their symptoms.3 For more information on sip feeds, click here.

Your child’s healthcare professional e.g. doctor, dietitian or pharmacist will be able to advise you on the most appropriate sip feed for your child.

How does PaediaSure Peptide work?

Protein is essential for children’s growth and development. It supports a number of the body’s essential processes including growth, repair and defence against bacteria / viruses.1

During digestion, enzymes in the stomach and small intestine break the protein down into smaller pieces called peptides and amino acids. These can then be absorbed into the bloodstream.

Some children with tummy troubles can struggle to digest and absorb protein, which may explain some of their symptoms. Peptide-based sip feeds, such as PaediaSure Peptide, contain protein that is already broken into smaller pieces, making it easier for the body to digest and absorb it. Better digestion and absorption can help relieve the unpleasant symptoms associated with tummy troubles.
